Nick Gonzales is the Director of Instrumental Music at West Lake Stem Junior High in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mr. Gonzales is in his 13th Year as an educator & has taught in Spring ISD (Spring, TX), Klein ISD (Klein, TX), and currently in the Granite School District (Salt Lake City, UT). Mr. Gonzales’ bands have received multiple superior ratings at UIL and Best in Class Awards at local festivals.
Mr. Gonzales graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Sam Houston State University. During his studies, he had the privilege of studying under Dr. Matthew McInturf, Randy Adams, & Dr. Rod Cannon . Other mentors and influential people in his musical journey include Eddie Green, Joe Dixon, Victor Flowers, Gabriel Musella, Victor Flowers, Dick Clardy, Susan Scarborough, Rick Rodriguez, Thomas Mensch, Victor Aguilar, & Michael Warny.
Mr. Gonzales is also the Founder & Executive Director of Stone of Hope Youth, a nonprofit that targets disadvantaged boys in the inner city. Stone of Hope Youth provides mentoring programs, summer camps, & teaches team leadership throughout the year to help guide kids to be influential leaders in their schools, families, community and eventually, the world.
Mr. Gonzales has a passion to speak life, teach and inspire kids to achieve more than they could ever imagine no matter their home situation. Mr. Gonzales’ number one passion is spending quality time with his beautiful wife, Alia, & their three incredible kids Aiden, Brynley, & Carter.
